  5. Piehole's Christmas Mountain Advent Calendar Story at The Greene Space (Soho)

With the shrinking spread of department stores in NYC (still teary over Barney’s), the holiday window game desperately needed some new contenders. Enter Piehole, a NYC live arts collective that is debuting its advent-calendar style story Christmas Mountain, officially kicking off the holiday season in the windows of The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR in Soho. Blending hand-crafted animatronics, original music and oodles of video screens, the story traces the holiday experience of a grumpy mouse who’s charged with the task of getting their mouse community’s TVs up and running. We can all relate. Nothing worse than when you’re counting on your show and you’re hit with a tech issue! These mice know the longest day of the year—the Winter Solstice—is fast approaching and their antenna that ensures they get their fix of Christmas themed television is broken. Can this grumpy mouse save the day? You’ll have to stop by daily to see!
