We're throwing a bash with our fave stroller brand, Bugaboo, to celebrate living life on the fly (and living a fly life)!  We're debuting the latest installment of Bubaboo's video series, this time detailing the urban adventure of stylist and blogger Latonya Staubs, her family and her Bugaboo Bee. Latonya will share some of her fave go-tos in the city, DJ Neil will spin some rad tunes, we'll all eat some yummy cupcakes and enjoy. Cheers to city moms!! We are big fans of the Bee, as it happens, as Babesta is curated for a city child, so it only make sense that a light weight, agile, easy to fold and high quality (& super stylish) stroller would be the guest of honor. We'll even be doing some stroller cleaning to those who pre-sign up for it (make an appointment ahead of time by calling 646 290 5508). I am always looking for great party ideas, and this year, since my oldest has become obsessed with Harry Potter, I thought I'd use the young Brit as the "theme". Pop culture is a passion and even if this one isn't really my bag, I'm  game to engage! I called up Watson Adventures, a super cool scavenger hunt company in the city (they were recommended by a friend who had used them for a team-building corporate event) once I found they had a "Harry Potter" themed scavenger hunt at the MET. Of course, the days leading up to the big event, I was not only nervous that the party would go without a hitch (the news was going on and on about Superstorm NEMO) but also nervous whether the MET was ready for 15 8/9 year olds on a mission to win! Sigh of relief, no Greek or Roman statues were destroyed during the hunt, no Old Masters defaced! If you're feeling energetic, it was a total blast and I  recommend it! Here are some of my tips: 1. We had a blast at our Mardi Gras Maskmaking at Babesta! Nearly as raucus as Bourbon Street! We were so impressed by everyone's creativity.

Join us! We're super excited to be reupping our Xtreme Playdates! The idea is to give kids fun, free, creative experiences with working members of the creative community--and they need to be something that parents will want to do too! Got to visit CANstruction yesterday night at the WFC -- it was pretty impressive--a host of large scale sculptures created out of canned goods, from SPAM to tunafish to Goya beans. Constructed by design teams, the exhibit raises interest and money for fighting hunger.At the end of the exhibit, all cans will be donated to community food banks. I think Babesta should do one! It doesn't look easy but it sure looks fun! www.canstruction.org

We're putting together a little Mardi Gras maskmaking, free "xtreme playdate" on Feb 12, so mark your calendars! Got to do a bit of looking around for great ingredients today in the fashion district with Alexandra Egan, master fashion prop stylist. The craft will be at Babesta Cribz from 5:00-6:00 and would be best for 6+, I think. We'll make super cool masks this Fat Tuesday, following Alex's creative vision! I cannot wait!!!! Interested?
