OK, so we will be putting out a fun reading list that kids can enjoy this summer (coming soon). I remember fondly joining the library's summer reading clubs and trying to read the most books during the lazy beach days, so we're asking for recommendations from clients, friends and publishing houses on the best of the best for each age group. We'll start posting next week. But in the meantime, we thought we'd give you a snapshot of what the Babesta crew was reading this summer for the moms and dads!
*I have to credit the idea of making a staff shelf to Out of Print Books and BTW, some great OOPB tees are coming soon - we'll let you know!
On our first try! Steph is our resident expert and is the luckiest person in the world (ask to see her collection of crying cakes from the Yummy Desserts!) This is what she pulled out of the box.
Popped in Blick in NoHo the other day and grabbed a flyer for their summer art camp. It's a great spot for art supplies and this free camp from 6/14-7/7 is definitely something to check out if you're looking for something to do on a hot summer day. There's sand painting, portraiture, jewerly making and more. Check it out here!
Yellow is my favorite color, so I was thrilled that Monte decided to add the bright and sunny color just in time for summertime. They picked a sophisticated shade that will look fabulous mixed with charcoal grey or full on, creating a pop of happiness for any room. http://babestaclassic.com/Monte-Design/
On Sunday, June 17, Iris Apfel (age 90) and blogger Tavi Gevinson (age 16) chat about what it means to be chic in the 21st century. This "possible conversation" will happen alongside the "impossible conversations" between Schiaparelli and Prada at the Costume Insitute exhibit (which is amazing!). The dialogue will be moderated by Judith Thurman, who wrote the intro to the exhibition catalog for the Schiaparelli/Prada exhibit.
Free with admission.
