We’re always on the lookout for family friendly activities for weekends in the city. That’s why we were happy to see the Center for Italian Modern Art is hosting a new exhibit: Bruno Munari: The Child Within. Starting on October 6, the exhibit will feature approximately 130 books, objects and artworks from archives, museums, galleries and private collections. Munari’s works were experiments conducted with light, transparency, pierced surfaces and paper mechanics that eventually resulted in some of his most iconic design objects.  Expect bright colors, impeccable line work, ground breaking innovations in graphics and whimsy! The exhibit is curated by Steven Guamaccia, professor Emeritus at Parsons School of Design and author and illustrator of books for adults and children on design and culture. For our Tribeca readers, this is just a hop and a skip, at 421 Broome Street, 4th Floor, NYC. Make an extra stop for an afternoon in Soho, followed by something sweet (pignoli cookie? Chocolate cannoli?) at Ferrara Bakery & Café, an iconic Italian dessert stop!
